is a french city and oh was i excited about that {i studied french since middle school, high school and college} i was able to read signs and be amongst french speakers. it was amazing. {since i live in a german town here remember}
it was just under a 3 hour train ride to Lausanne{and then Montreux just under 30min from Lausanne) i love that you can just hop on a train and it will take you to all these magical places. i also get to travel anywhere for free in switzerland so this trip was free besides the few yummy french pastries i bought in Lausanne. where shall i go next?!
it rained the whole time we were in Lausanne. it was kinda fun{i say that now} traipsing around town with water falling on our heads and often we were too in love with the city to notice. however, the nasty weather brought fog and clouds so you cant see the AMAZING waterfront this place is supposed to have. hopefully i can return on a day that is clear so that Lake Geneva is showing in the background of these pictures not some dull grey/white sky.
i came to Lausanne to see this cathedral pictured below. i have an art history minor and i love anything that... well is historical art. including gothic cathedrals with stained glass windows. we were able to go inside and walk around and take pictures. you have no idea how excited i was to be in that place. the majority of my pictures turned out bad because of the lighting, so i just included a few of the ones i took inside. if you want some history of the cathedral or want to see more photographs of it go HERE
Montreux, Switzerland
is another french city. i decided i wanted to retire here. it is sooo beautiful. you can see france across the water even. we came here to visit the Chateau de Chillon{castle of Chillon}. it was a beautiful walk along the lake, about 2 miles. while here i was able to use my french and talk to a cute older couple{cool story~they both speak french but she is from Honduras so knows spanish, french and english and her husband is from italy and he knows italian, french and he knew a bit of english. they were very nice}and a very good looking black man who spoke about 3 words of english. when we finally reached the castle it closed right as we got there! so i will have to come back another time, maybe closer to spring cuz notice how FOGGY it is out, but thankfully the rain stopped.

Hey, I'm trying to figure out how put videos from my computer straight into my blog posts, and I haven't been able to figure it out. The upload video button seems to have disappeared from my tool bar when I'm writing a post. How do you do it?
Thanks, and I hope you are having a wonderful time in Switzerland! It looks beautiful!
Live it up! I am so happy that you are having so much fun!
