lately...i bet you were wondering...

as of late...

yes, there is more in my life then fasnachts.
wednesday, i went shopping in zurich. i bought some teal bow clips and 2 new scarves{i needed scarves for egypt because i only brought winter scarves with me}. anna is modeling the clips and 1 of the scarves. i told her to make a funny face for the picture and this is her "i dont want to make a funny face" face and well, it turned out to be a funny face.

on saturday, tyler and i went for a walk {our first walk together} and this Toblerone chocolate chocolate swiss alpes cake hid in my room from Rob, it was his birthday saturday. {the frosting was even Toblerone} i will have you know my room smelt like this cake and it was torture.

today was a fun day. i did the girls' hair {as you can see from the below pics, it didn't last too long}, then we played outside with tyler, then after i put tyler to sleep the girls and i went to the park. {don't worry roberta was home, tyler was not alone}. we had the park to ourselves. it was great. we played on the teeter totter, swung on the swings, played pirates, played tag, played hid and go seek. here is a funny story~at one point anna was running and fell and scratched herself up pretty bad, but she barely cried. and we continued to play. she fell before the majority of the playing. while walking back to their house, i said to anna that when she shows her mom her scrapes that she should tell her how she didn't cry. anna said no she wasn't going to tell her mom that. i asked her why and she said she just didn't want her to know....of course i knew she had something planned. we raced up the last hill...anna won. when we got inside anna became very whiney and said how much her scratches hurt, complained about how she could barely walk{you clearly just joyfully raced up the hill} and requested that she just lay down and watch a movie. ANNA...you were JUST fine!! that is why she didn't want her mom to know, she wanted to act like she was in pain to get something she wanted!{i mean i am sure it hurt, but she was just fine outside!} that girl!

also, today mariah told me she loved me and said she will be sad when i leave and go back home. mariah is such a sweetie.



here we are pirates. these girls are so funny and so fun. you can notice, a bit, how funny they both run. sometimes, i make them run just so i can chuckle to myself.

the party never stops!

more fasnachts you say? yes. its true. this is mondays, the final celebration {i attended}. it was basically the same thing as sundays {Wadenswil} parade. same "floats", whatever they call them here, but this monday's parade was especially for the kids {it was a lot shorter too}. this time i went with anna, mariah and roberta {oh and tyler but he slept in the stroller the whole time} it was fun with them! the girls dressed up a bit then we headed down the street for the action.

after the parade was over, we had our own confetti throwing. here anna is throwing a handful at me which gets in my chili {in the following picture}
one of the "floats" was handing out chili{?} and i ran up and snatched a bowl. it was delicious. this would never be allowed in the states, to hand out open food like that.
then we came back home for some good ol' fashion chalk drawing and playing outside because it was a glorious day.

Horchata anyone?

i love tyler and me time, so does he.
we enjoy wrestling, tickling, dancing and making weird sounds with each other...especially the dancing. he is seriously so cute.



if you want to hear/know what the song tyler and i are dancing to its this...(one of my favorite bands...top 5) when i first heard it i said to myself, "song about Horchata? weird." but then i realized it's greatness.

crepes and cheese rolls

this morning the kiddos were all up by 7:30am, on a saturday...a crime, but i got to work making them DELICIOUS crepes for breakfast. i think i might have had 4, but we will just say 3. the usual~banana, strawberry, nutella rolled inside with lemon juice(for me) and powdered sugar sprinkled on the outside. did i mention they were DELICIOUS?



later, we enjoyed several giggles as i rolled the girls up like "cheese rolls"(in this house we call cheese melted in a tortilla shell then rolled up like a burrito a "cheese roll"...we eat them often) then steam rolled them on top of each other. they loved it and so more cheese rolls were made.


here they are trying to get out of the twisted cheese roll. mariah is a tad trapped and isn't enjoying it too much.

the letter P

today we learned about the letter P.
the parents went off on a little valentines trip early this afternoon(till tomorrow). i thought it would be fun for the girls to learn about letters of the alphabet(something i will/may continue to do from time to time). today was the letter P. it began with putting on Princess outfits and then they went to "Princess Academy". the first thing they did at the Princess academy was go on a hunt for things that start with the letter P(previous to there admittance to the academy i taped up pictures around downstairs). then we talked about each briefly. i prepared to teach them more so about Pink flamingos. so we talked about them, watched some informational videos clips from youtube~and one silly one~and then colored Pink flamingos. after that was story time, i told the girls a story about a Princess. they helped me make it up however thanks to anna it basically was the story of sleeping beauty(i was going to read them a Princess story but they insisted on me making up a story...for the record i am not good at making up stories on the spot). then for dinner we ate Pizza and Pear slices and later we had a movie Party with Popcorn in our Pj's. it was a Pretty fun day.
